David Ike

Three ways of paying attention — a room's sound, a face in late light, a moment that only reads in motion. I work in all three, usually on the same project.

Ground  /  Who you're hiring

One set of
eyes and ears.

Everything I release, I make in a bedroom studio — write it, play it, track it, mix it, master it.

My releases go out under Rocky Road Records — a name a few of us came up with in college when we were running a music collective, and one I've kept.

These days a record I produce usually comes with the photographs, and a film I shoot usually comes with its own score. Clients get one person holding the whole thing instead of three vendors trying to agree.

I work with musicians, small labels, brands that would rather look like themselves, and people getting married who don't want their day to look like a stock photo.

Sound  /  Production, mixing, original scoring

Sound

Four self-released tracks written, played, and finished alone in my bedroom studio, plus a record I worked on. Open a title to hear it.

Full tracks play for listeners signed in to Spotify; everyone else hears a 30-second preview.

Light  /  Live, portrait, commercial

Light

Stages, job sites, and people who are about to get married. Mostly available light, occasionally a flash, never more frames than the moment needs.

Motion  /  Music video, short film, event film

Motion

Shot, directed, cut, and scored by me. All digital, graded to sit closer to film than to a camera default — I like the tones, not the cost of the stock.
